Delisa Lynn grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She works in the medical field by day, and let’s her characters come to life at night. She is an avid reader, mainly any book with Alpha males or a good romance novel. If she isn’t working or writing you can find her curled up with her fur baby and her kindle. Or watching a good movie with her husband. She is a huge reality TV junkie.
1.What got you into writing / what made you sit down and actually start something? I just opened up word on my laptop one day. I had a story in my head, so I just started writing. 2.What is a usual writing day like for you, how is it structured? I normally spend three to four hours a day writing. Normally a few in the morning and a few in the evening.
3.Do you get writers block? If so, how do you overcome it?Heck yeah. Honestly? I read through what I have written, sometimes it helps. If it doesn’t then I stop for a few days.
4.Are you a plotter or pantser when it comes to writing a story?More of a Panster.
5.Are you traditionally or self-published? I have self published, and I am also a Limitless Publishing Author. 6. What was the publishing process like for you? Any advice to aspiring authors? It’s a lot of work. Make sure that you hire great editors, formatters and a great cover designer.
7.What has been your highlight since becoming a published author? Knowing that there are actually people waiting for my next book.
8.Can you share a little of your most recent book with us, including genre and targeted audience? The Ocean Between Us, will release on March 15th. It is a contempary romance. Quaid and Hendlee have been best friends since they were children, both secretly in love with one another. She wants to stay in their small town, but he wants to travel the world. He enlist in the Navy and things change before and after he leaves. It’s full of drama, angst and love.
9.What tip would you give to new authors when trying to build a fan-base / get followers and market their books? (What to do and what not to do.)Always promote your book/books, but never on another authors page. Be yourself, and grow your fan base. It won’t happen over night, but you’ll get there.
10.How long on average does it take you to write a book? Two months to Two years.
11.Tell us about the book cover/s, how the designing came about, whether you had much input etc. As I am a Limitless Author they have the control over the covers, I don’t have much say. But they always do an amazing job.
12.Apart from writing, what do you do in your spare time?Read, and spend time with my husband and our seven year old Yorkie.
